Fez to sahara desert and marrakesh tour ( 4 days – 3 nights )

This tour is just a small section of our Best of Morocco Tour and the opposite of our Marrakesh to Fez itinerary. This particular route allows you to depart Fez and venture through the Sahara Desert, and continue through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge. It also allows you to enjoy the scenery of Skoura, known as the Valley of Kasbahs, along with Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, until you cross over the High Atlas Mountains for a drop off in Marrakesh.

Day 1: Depart Fez | Erfoud (D) (7hrs)

You will depart around 9am and head for Ifrane before continuing onward through Midelt and onto Erfoud for the night. Travelers also have the option of stopping in Midelt for the night, which helps shorten the day’s driving time. This opens up the possibility to do a walk within the Azrou and Ifrane areas. Midelt is a good option in the warmer months (June through September), while Erfoud is a better option in the winter months (October through May).

Day 2: Erfoud | Sahara Desert (D) (3hrs)

After breakfast, We’ll drive to Merzouga, the Erg Chebbi region of the Sahara Desert. Prepare for a memorable night under the stars and sleeping in a Bedouin-style tent. We have both standard and deluxe camps available.

Day 3: Merzouga-Rissani – Dades Valley – Skoura (D) (5hrs)

This morning, you’ll be able to rise with the sunset to grab some photos before hopping back onto the camels for the short ride back to the hotel. You’ll then head through Rissani, before continuing on the road to Tinjedad for lunch. En route to Skoura, you can choose to drive up into either the Todra Gorge or Dades Valley. Tonight, you’ll be staying in the Skoura palm grove, known as the Valley of Kasbahs. You will have the option to spend the night in the Dades Valley or in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Drop off in Marrakesh (D) (5hrs)

After leaving Skoura, you can visit Ouarzazate and the Taorirt Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family. You will also be stopping at the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou. Then, you’ll head over theTiz n Tichka pass, which goes over the High Atlas Mountains and to Marrakesh.
